Caherlistrane Kilcoona Community website
Caherlistrane is located in North Galway, approximately 6 miles from Tuam and 15 miles from Galway City. Caherlistrane’s most prominent landmark, Knockma, is the highest hill in the plains of North Galway and South Mayo, and there is evidence of a major pre-Christian settlement through its ancient remains, including cairns, underground passages and forts. There are many places of interest in the community, such as Lough Hackett, Cnoc an Dún, Castlehackett House, Lisdonagh House, Ballindiff Castle, Ballindiff Bay and Dabhach Cuana.
This is a new community website – for the Caherlistrane and Kilcoona Parish, we are continuing to update these pages so please bare with us. We welcome sharing your events specific to our area – both here and/on our social media pages. We are on Facebook and Instagram.
